Anyone Need a Tombstone Generator?

For those of you unfamiliar with the inner workings of social websites like MySpace, let me simply say that users have thousands of ways to personalize their profile pages on the web.

Yesterday, I stumbled across an online widget that allows one to put a message up on the face of a virtual tombstone and reproduce this in another website. Here's an example:

The Half-Wit Funeral Director

Thanks to my friend Mike Flynn for sending this little joke along.

There was an old funeral director who owned a small funeral home in Montana. The Montana Wage & Hour Department claimed he was not paying proper wages to his help and sent an agent out to interview him.

"I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them," demanded the agent.

"Well," replied the funeral director , "There's my apprentice who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $600 a week plus free room and board."

"The embalmer has been here for 18 months, and I pay her $500 per week plus free room and board."

"Then there's the half-wit who works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night."

"That's the guy I want to talk to, the half-wit," says the agent.

"That would be me," replied the funeral director.

I have a habit of sifting though off-beat websites in search of inspiration or just good examples of true out of the box thinking. Keeps me on my toes, etc. etc.

Well today I came across one of those elegantly weird ideas that also can't help but make make you laugh on first site. Follow the link below to get the full scoop.
