Click the link below to hear a recording of the Pursuit of Excellence Ideas Exchange held during the NFDA convention in Philadelphia last month. It includes a summary of the purpose behind the Best of the Best Recognition as well as an overview of this year's recipients.
Please note that I have not had time yet to edit the file down. The total recording runs about an hour. Perhaps at some point I can edit the contents to a more manageable size.

I listened to the exchange and was encouraged to hear funeral directors sharing ideas freely.
As a funeral professional, supplier and writer, I'm constantly encouraging funeral directors to search out new ideas and share their own.
Most funeral homes face scarce competition from outside a set service area, meaning that an owner (or managing director) can use the great ideas pioneered by other funeral homes without worry that the consumer will notice the duplication.
